Initially released into early access, the Sony-published PS5 party horror game Midnight Murder Club will now have a full release on 14th August 2025, it’s been confirmed.
For those who didn’t catch it the first time around, Midnight Murder Club is an online multiplayer game where players find themselves in a pitch-black mansion, armed with just a flashlight and a revolver. You have to take out the other players in the building while staying alive yourself, with traps and additional weapons to help you along the way.
The idea is that if you turn your flashlight on, you’ll likely gain vital information about other players and the mansion you’re in. However, doing so could give away your position and form the hint someone else in the match was looking for.
From Knockout City developer Velan Studios, the game unfortunately didn’t catch on and build an audience in early access. While its PS5 player numbers are unknown, its concurrent player peak is just 178, and the game only attracts just north of 50 people at any one time during its most popular hours of play.

The hope will be Midnight Murder Club can make more of a splash with its full release on 14th August. When the early access version turns into the full release, a patch will add a new co-op PvE mode called Graveyard Shift.
It costs £15.99 / $19.99, and buying a copy allows you to invite up to five additional friends to play the game via a Guest Pass. Essentially, just one person in your friend group needs to buy the game, and then they can invite everyone else to play together.
